Sarah Palin - Pro-Life (21-30)

Sarah Palin Pro-life(continued from Sarah Palin Church)

Sarah Palin's key positions include pro-life, pro-marriage and pro-Creationism.

Regarding her pro-life position, Sarah Palin wrote to the Alaska Right to Life Board in 2002:

"[I am] pro-life as any candidate can be [and have] adamantly supported our cause since I first understood, as a child, the atrocity of abortion." (Sarah Palin 2002)

Sarah Palin's pro-life position is personally tested. In December of 2007, she learned that the son she was to deliver has Down Syndrome. Sarah Palin recounted:

"[My husband] said, 'We shouldn't be asking 'Why us?' We should be saying 'Well, why not us?' We've both been very vocal about being pro-life. We understand that every innocent life has wonderful potential. I'm looking at him right now, and I see perfection. Yeah, he has an extra chromosome... Trig [our son] is beautiful and already adored by us. We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives. We have faith that every baby is created for good purpose and has potential to make this world a better place. We are truly blessed."

And when asked during a 2006 debate about her position on evolution and Creationism in schools, she replied:

"Teach both. You know, don’t be afraid of information. Healthy debate is so important, and it’s so valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both."
