Rick Perry - Positions

(continued
from
Rick Perry beliefs)
Rick Perry's pro-life positions, including
Born Alive Abortion,
Partial Birth Abortion, and all other types of abortion, are firm. As
Governor of Texas, Rick Perry even required sonograms and the discussion of the
sonogram between the mother and the medical practitioner prior to abortions.
Rick Perry's positions against homosexuality and homosexual 'marriage'
(see
Bible
Verses About Homosexuality) are firm as well. As Governor, Rick Perry amended the Texas constitution to
define marriage as between one man and one woman.
Rick Perry's positions on the issues dealing with our economy, however,
lack depth and coherence, and address neither the federal government's budget
deficit nor America's national debt nor the
fundamental cause of our nation's economic
woes (see
America in Decline).
His proposal to add the option of paying a flat 20% income
tax to the existing tax code will shift the tax burden away from those most able
to bear it and further complicates the existing IRS code, already a 3.5 million
word behemoth, complying with which makes us annually spend an estimated 6
billion aggregate hours and flood the IRS phone lines with over 100 million
queries, a quarter of which go unresolved.
His plan to stimulate the economy by allowing more drilling for oil is simplistic and ignores the
reality of the economic policy being larger than
energy policy, which is in turn bigger than the drilling policy.
Elements of Rick Perry's proposals drill for more old also reflect the influence of oil interests on Rick Perry.
