The third of four children, Sarah Palin's Christian journey began when her mother, the spiritual force in the Palin home, began to take Sarah and her siblings to the churches in her area. Sarah Palin was saved and baptized at the Wasilla Assemblies of God when she was 12 years old. By high school, Sarah Palin was leading the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the prayers for her basketball team before their games. At each of the universities she attended, including University of Idaho, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree, Sarah Palin sought out and remained involved in Christian circles. Sarah Palin's faith and theology sharpened in her adulthood, as she migrated from Assemblies of God to solely Bible-based churches. When a reporter recently asked her about her religion, Sarah Palin replied, "Christian." When pressed if she was "any particular" type of Christian, Sarah Palin specified, "No, Bible-believing Christian."
