Rick Santorum - Positions

Rick Santorum Positions(continued from Rick Santorum Beliefs)

What are Rick Santorum's candidacy positions and have they remained consistent? In other words, can Rick Santorum's positions be trusted?

Life

Rick Santorum's pro-life positions are solid. He is against embryonic stem cell research and opposes all types of abortions, even after rape of incest (see Abortion Is Murder). While in the US Senate, Rick Santorum led the fight to ban partial birth abortions and won.

Homosexuality

Rick Santorum opposes homosexual marriage (see Homosexuality Bible Verses) and also led the effort for a Constitutional Amendment defining marriage as between one man and one woman.

Budget

Rick Santorum supports a balanced budget (see America In Decline) Constitutional Amendment that limits government spending to 18% of our gross domestic product (GDP). He also wants to roll back all non-entitlement, non-defense government spending to 2008 levels through across the board cuts.

Taxes

He wants to stimulate the manufacturing sector with a 0% corporate tax rate, simplify the personal tax code to two rates - 10% and 28% - and eliminate all deductions except home mortgage interest, healthcare, retirement savings, children and charitable giving.

Foreign Policy

Rick Santorum propose to neutralize the threat of nuclear-armed Iran with immediate military action. He appears to understand the external threat posed by Islamic jihad, perhaps more than the Islamic jihad brewing within America.
