Barack Obama - Marriage
How Barack Obama is redefining "marriage"
for America
Racism involves pre-judgment - i.e., "prejudice"
- based on the color of one's skin. By contrast, homosexuality
involves willing acts by its participants. Condemnation of homosexuality
is therefore based on actions, not pre-judgment/prejudice.
Both racism and homosexuality are sins condemned by the Bible (see
Bible Verses Against Homosexuality), yet
proponents of homosexual marriage have cunningly positioned homosexual marriage not
as a sin but as akin to the civil rights movement that
fought against the sin of racism.
Barack Obama is a fervent supporter of
homosexual marriage. Within hours of becoming
president, Barack Obama announced on the White House website the following
as the "civil rights" objectives of his presidency:
"Support Full Civil Unions and Federal Rights for
LGBT Couples: President Obama supports full civil unions that give same-sex
couples legal rights and privileges equal to those of married couples. President
Obama also believes we need to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and enact
legislation that would ensure that the 1,100+ federal legal rights and benefits
currently provided on the basis of marital status are extended to same-sex
couples in civil unions and other legally-recognized unions...
Oppose a Constitutional Ban on Same-Sex Marriage: President Obama voted against
the Federal Marriage Amendment in 2006 which would have defined marriage as
between a man and a woman and prevented judicial extension of marriage-like
rights to same-sex or other unmarried couples.
Expand Adoption Rights: President Obama believes that we must ensure adoption
rights for all couples and individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation.
He thinks that a child will benefit from a healthy and loving home, whether the
parents are gay or not."
As president and a direct beneficiary of America's African American civil rights
movement, Barack Obama is strategically positioned to redefine and champion homosexual
"marriage" as a civil rights issue.
Even more damaging than his policies will be the long-term damage from his appointments of
Supreme Court
Justices who are likely to
strike down as unconstitutional the anti-homosexual-marriage
bans now in effect in 29 states, and who will continue to uphold Roe v Wade (see
Abortion is Murder).
