15. Do you believe Jesus and Satan were once brothers?
One of the teachings of the Mormon belief system kept well-hidden from non-Mormon
audiences is
the notion that Jesus and Satan started as brothers: the Mormon Jesus behaved well and
turned into
god while the Mormon Satan behaved badly and turned into... Satan. The Mormon belief
system also teaches that good
conduct in this life will enable Mormon
s to turn into god someday, just like Jesus a generation ago.
A belief system that teaches Jesus - the perfectly pure and holy Creator - to be
the brother of Satan - the perfectly evil and sinful creature - is a
lie that insults Christ. And the dangerous notion that a creature can become the Creator is precisely
what turned Lucifer, the angel of light, into Satan, and is therefore satan
ic.
Anyone who claims to know Christ yet believes in a brotherhood between
Jesus and the devil does not know Jesus of the
Bible and
dishonors Him.
