Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin in the photo, won her office in
2006 by defeating the incumbent Governor from her own Republican party.

Prior to that Governor Palin served as Ethics Commissioner for the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation, prior to which she served as the Mayor of Wasilla, her small home town in Alaska.
