Long before she became the Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin was a beauty queen.

Raised in the small town of Wasilla, Alaska, Governor Sarah Palin was Miss Wasilla in 1984. Sarah Palin also competed in the Miss Alaska contest and was the runner up.

Needless to say, Sarah Palin wasn't the typical beauty queen. She also played point guard for her high school basketball team and her competitiveness on court won her the nickname, "Sarah Barracuda".
