Paul Ryan Catholic

Paul Ryan - Catholic (1-10)

Paul Ryan CatholicPaul Ryan was born to Paul M. Ryan, a lawyer of Irish Catholic descent, and Betty Ryan, of German and English descent. Paul Ryan was raised a Roman Catholic and served as an altar boy in Catholic masses in his youth.

When Paul Ryan was a 16 years old high school sophomore, his father died of a sudden heart attack and his mother returned to school. Paul Ryan responded by immersing himself in school studies and activities, getting and working part-time jobs, and thrived. This experience helped shape his libertarian political philosophy.

After graduating in 1992 from Miami University in Ohio, where he majored in economics and political science, Paul Ryan worked for political campaigns or politicians until running to become one himself in 1998. He won that race and has since served as a Congressman from Wisconsin.

In 2000, Paul Ryan married Janna Little, a tax attorney and a fellow Roman Catholic who is now a full-time homemaker to their three children.

Paul Ryan sleeps in his office when in Washington D.C. and returns home to Janesville, Wisconsin on weekends. On Sundays, his family attend St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Janesville.
