In terms of religions other than his own, the religion that Herman Cain has spoken against is Islam, and the religion that Herman Cain is weak on is Mormonism.

Let's start with the religion that Herman Cain has spoken against. On July 16, 2011, Herman Cain told Fox News:

"And based upon the little knowledge that I have of the Muslim religion, you know, they have an objective to convert all infidels or kill them. Now, I know that there are some peaceful Muslims who don't go around preaching or practicing that. Well, unfortunately, we can't sit back and tolerate the radical ones simply because we know that there are some of them who don't believe in that aspect of the Muslim religion." - Herman Cain

Herman Cain's "little knowledge" about Islam is actually correct, but the Muslims who kill infidels are not "the radical ones". They are the ones following the words and the examples of Mohammed, who plundered passing caravans, deemed an acceptable economic activity in his time, and commanded in Surah 9:5 of the Koran to "slay the infidels" unless they convert:

"But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the infidels wherever you find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every ambush; but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them: for God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." - Surah 9:5


Regarding Mormonism, on October 29, 2007, Herman Cain wrote in an article titled, "Mitt Romney is a Mormon and I am a Baptist: Get over it!":

"The Baptists, Methodists, Catholics, Lutherans, Pentecostals, Mormons and a few other faiths have three things in common - they believe in Jesus Christ, that he is the Son of God and that he died and was resurrected for our sins... Different denominations of Christianity are just that - different denominations - which means different worship practices of the same fundamental Christian beliefs."

Did Herman Cain know that Mormons believe Jesus is a created being and the older brother of Satan? (see Mormon Jesus and Satan brothers) Did he know that Mormons believe adhering to Mormonism will turn humans into Gods (see Mormon cult)? The fallacy that a creature can become the Creator, and our perfectly holy Lord being called the brother of Satan, who is perfectly evil, are Satanic lies, not "fundamental Christian beliefs".

Herman Cain continued in the same article:

"Some people have commented that they cannot support Mitt Romney because he is a Mormon. When they are pressed to explain why that is objectionable, they stutter. Still others are skeptical of Mitt Romney based solely on hearsay or lack of knowledge about Mormons."

There is no stutter in why Christians cannot vote for a Mormon president. When he expressed as above in 2007, how much "knowledge" did Herman Cain have about Mormonism when he penned his article in 2007?
